Born from experts, led by enthusiasts

Tftp was first created in 2010 by David Tucker and Alan Bailes, both qualified Transport Planners, Consultants and business owners. With their combined knowledge of the industry and well developed partnerships and relationships, they developed tftp in order to deliver valuable, industry led transport planning training.

 

Education and training tailored for the transport industry

 

The first partnership began with the taking over of the already respected Edinburgh Napier University MSc course in ‘Transport Planning and Engineering’, which had been running in the West Midlands since 2006.  Following on from this they developed and delivered more courses including; the well received 12 week course ‘Introduction to Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering’ and two one day courses ‘Winter Maintenance’ and ‘Modelling for Managers’. Being received well and with some fabulous feedback from enthusiastic attendees, the training programme has grown year-on-year along with the delegate numbers.

 

Scottish Transport Applications & Research (STAR) Conference

 

In 2015 Transport Scotland appointed tftp to organise the programme and delivery of the Scottish Transport Applications & Research (STAR) Conference, which is the leading annual event disseminating and debating innovation in Scottish Transport. Supporting the leading European Transport Conference, ETC

 

Since 2012, tftp have been working with the Association for European Transport (AET) to deliver the well-respected European Transport Conference (ETC).  Now in its 46th year, ETC is still one of the most enjoyed and respected transport planning conferences in Europe. ​

The future

 

In 2017, tftp underwent a refresh in all senses of the word, in keeping with its promise to stay relevant to the industry and communities for which we serve.

 

We have:

 

• A fresh new look – we have rebranded with a fresh new logo, new colours and new website

• Invested in people – we have brought new people on board to deliver an even better experience to our delegates and partners

• Researched the industry – to continue to deliver valuable, forward thinking and industry led courses
