AET Covid-19 Conversations: Evidence, Power and Money in Transport’s Pandemic Response
Evidence, Power and Money in Transport’s Pandemic Response
Thursday 7 January 2021 at 10:00 GMT (11:00 CMT)
This sixth Webinar in the AET Autumn Winter 2020/2021 Series will be held on Thursday 7th January between 11:00 and 12:00 CET (10:00-11:00 GMT). The role of science in shaping responses to the pandemic has been highly controversial throughout 2020, with tension between popular narratives, political goals and different views of the evidence. 2021 will be critical in shaping the new normal so join us for this webinar at the start of the new year to debate how to shape the transport recovery.
There will be two speakers to introduce the topic, followed by a discussion session as follows:
Dr. Mateu Turró returned to his Chair in Transport at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in 2009 after a break of more than 20 years at the European Investment Bank where he contributed to the establishment of infrastructure projects appraisal methods, the definition of trans-European transport networks, and developing spatial and urban policy for the EIB and the European Commission. At UPC in Barcelona he has been teaching on decision-making, project financing and European infrastructure policy.
Dr. Greg Marsden holds the Chair of Transport Governance at the University of Leeds in England. He specialises in transport governance, decision-making, public policy, climate change, energy, smart mobility and public management. He co-chairs the governance and decision-making special interest group of the World Conference on Transport Research Society. His recent projects include assessing the role of information on the dynamics of public policy decision-making.
The webinar will be hosted on the WebEx platform. Please register to let us know you will attend. Pre-registered participants will receive additional information the day before the webinar containing instructions on how to use WebEx and a calendar item with the link.
