AET Transport and Mobility Forum: FREE Webinar 2nd March 2023
AET Transport and Mobility Forum presents:
Evidencing the value of the Elizabeth line in London. Results of the baseline and pre-opening evaluation.
FREE Webinar: Thursday 2nd March 2023 1100 - 1200 CET (1000 - 1100 GMT)
The Elizabeth line is the most significant addition to London's transport network in a generation, transforming life and travel in London and the Southeast. Delivered by Crossrail Ltd, it runs for more than 100km through central London, serving 41 stations and supporting new journeys out to Essex, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
In 2016, DfT and TfL commissioned Arup and Volterra to deliver the Crossrail Baseline Evaluation study, collecting data to evaluate both the future post-opening and pre-opening impacts of the line. This webinar is an opportunity to discover what we learned from the construction of Crossrail, what the wider economic context looks like, and what pre-opening impacts affected the London property market.
Csaba Pogonyi is a senior economist in Arup’s City Economics and Planning team. He has a PhD in Urban and Transport Economist and more than nine years of professional experience in the field of economic research, econometrics and evaluation. Csaba has been involved with the Elizabeth line project since 2019, and took over managing it in 2020. He currently leads the first-post opening evaluation which is interested in the short-term transport impacts of the line.
Jennifer Bottomley has ten years’ experience in social research and evaluation, having worked in both research agencies and government social research roles. She joined the Department for Transport in 2020 to lead the rail evaluation programme, which includes evaluation of the Crossrail programme and Elizabeth line.
The webinar is supported by the ETC programme committee Transport Economics, Finance and Appraisal and will be moderated by the committee chair John Siraut, Director of Economics & Global Principal Transport Economics, Jacobs.
The webinar is organised by the AET Transport and Mobility Forum and will be hosted on the Zoom platform. For further registration details, please go to AET Transport and Mobility Forum and follow the link to register for the webinar.
