Inclusive Mobility: Equal Access for All
This month's TMF webinar is being co-hosted with the AET Inclusion Group and will discuss two examples of projects which demonstrate different aspects of the approaches to achieving inclusive mobility in the UK and EU.
Getting Home Safely: Why considering the safety of women and girls is crucial for inclusive transport and spaces
AtkinsRéalis’ Getting Home Safely initiative was founded on the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe in public spaces and on transport services. However, as planners and designers, there is not enough evidence available on what interventions best support this.
In this session the presenters will share the findings from our 2024 survey that sought to build a deeper understanding of what features impact our perception of safety whilst travelling and using public spaces. They will explore how this differs between demographic groups, and why this evidence is crucial to enable inclusive transport and public spaces.
ELABORATOR – Designing sustainable urban mobility towards climate-neutral cities
The EU-funded ELABORATOR project aims to support cities in planning and designing mobility and public space that reflect the views and needs of their users while pursuing their climate-neutrality path. With 12 European Living Labs, the project is working with key interventions towards safe, inclusive and sustainable urban mobility, specifically co-designed and co-created with identified vulnerable to exclusion user groups, local authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
The ELABORATOR presentation will focus on the project methodologies supporting its Living Labs in planning and implementing their sustainable mobility measures in a more inclusive and accessible manner, ensuring that mobility and public space are available to everyone. Some of the project’s current outcomes include the ELABORATOR Inclusion Plan, the Evaluation Plan and the Co-creation Playbook leading to the Lighthouse cities implementation plans and the initial twining with Follower Cities.
This webinar will be chaired by Chris Cary, TMF Working Group Member and moderated by Danielle Snellen, Diversity & Inclusion Working Group C. The AET Transport and Mobility Forum webinars are FREE to attend and are hosted on the Zoom platform.
