ETC 2020: Rail Planning & Policy sessions
ETC 2020: Rail Planning & Policy stream announced
The Rail Planning and Policy is focused on developing the knowledge on planning, economics and use of heavy rail. During the Covid-19 pandemic, footfall has plunged dramatically but there is a future for rail after the pandemic, even more than before the crisis.
Enhancement of the quality of the rail network and its use is pivotal for our society and our wellbeing. The political and economic organisation of developing rail networks and customers' satisfaction with train use are key elements in creating a more sustainable society. Join us at #etc2020online for presentations covering:
Competition between modes
The contractual side of rail
The customer experience
Rail network developments
The role of ICT in rail inclusion
Future network development
Cross-border rail and European integration
As Rail is so integrated in society and in the customer journey of travellers, ETC will also offer shared sessions with other programme committees including:
Local Public Transport (Rail projects)
Planning for Sustainable Land Use and Planning (Walkability)
Transport Economics, Finance and Appraisal (Rail Competition)
Freight and Logistics (Freight: Costs and demand)
We hope that the shared sessions lead to a more integrated view and enrich the discussions on these topics. More information on the Rail Planning & Policy programme can be found on the AET website. The conference countdown has begun with only two weeks to go, so book your place now!
