European Transport Conference 2025: Call for Papers announced

ETC 2025 Call for Papers

Abstract Submissions: OPENING 6 JANUARY 2025

The Association for European Transport (AET) announces the start of the preparations for ETC 2025. This will be the 53rd ETC and the conference will be held at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, from 17th to 19th September 2025.

The European Transport Conference (ETC) attracts papers that address themes of relevance to the transport agenda in Europe and worldwide. The Conference provides a great opportunity for all delegates to network and form career-spanning professional relationships.

Conference Themes for 2025

We now invite Abstract Submissions for the 2025 European Transport Conference. The major theme of the conference will be:

  • Moving towards sustainable transport in a polarised world.

  • Providing access and transport in times of financial challenges.

  • Building adaptability and resilience into transport systems and decision making.

  • Utilising technology, Artificial Intelligence and digital twins to improve transport systems and transport research.

  • Dealing with labour, resource, infrastructure and energy challenges in freight and passenger transport.

  • Creating healthy, efficient, safe and inclusive transport schemes for current and future generations.

  • Shaping functional and comfortable cities providing necessary access for all ages and capabilities.

  • Expanding the 21st century planners toolkit with fit for purpose models and decision support systems.

In addition, we would like to hear from anyone who is interested in utilising ETC 2025 as a platform to hold their project inception, final results dissemination, or annual progress and planning event in a parallel co-located stream.
